Look for an existing valve

Inspect your car if it has any blow-off valve under the hood.

Choose a quality BOV

For installing a Blow valve, choosing a proper BOV is very important. It needs to be a high-quality correct size valve.

Do not forget to let your engine cool

Before you start mechanical work on your car, it’s essential to ensure that your car engine is cool. If you drive it off, give it some time to become cold.

Disconnect the battery

It’s necessary to take off the electricity supply of the car. For that, open the car hood off your vehicle as the battery is placed under there. First, you have to remove the negative cable from the battery terminal. After that, you can disconnect the positive cable from the battery terminal.

Remove the battery

It will be good if you remove the battery from the car. You must remove the battery bracket and gently pull the battery with the handle on it.

Locate a proper position

Now look under the hood to choose a suitable location for the valve. It should be located in the intercooler or intake piping of the exhaust. You also have to make sure there is enough room for the valve. If your car has an exhaust valve, ensure it is well ventilated. You are going to need the vent pipe for the installation of the BOV.

Remove Race Port

Once you are ready now, remove the V-Band clamp from the Race port by unscrewing the screw from the clamp. Carefully remove the Race Port from its place with the stainless steel weld flange.

Weld the adapter

There is a stainless steel adapter that comes with the blow-off valve. You have to weld it on the intercooler pipe in an ideal position. Do not forget to take precautions while welding. Then let the welding cool down properly.

Reinstall the race port in its place

Place a V-Band clamp over the adapter. Now place the Race port in its place and secure it with a new V-clamp.

Install the valve

There is an O-Ring to seal the valve plug with the adapter. Place it on the adapter and install the valve. Now place the V clamp in its position and tighten it. Check if the clamp is not loose. Remember, over-tightening the clamp screw can also cause damage. Now put the nipple on one port of the valve and the blanking plug on another port.

After that, connect the 2nd port with the vacuum hose and the pressure nipple of the Race Port BOV.

Reinstall the battery

Now reinstall the battery of the car in its place. Reconnect the battery terminals.

Check and secure the joints

Secure all the hose joints properly so that no air can escape. You can try starting your engine to check if there is any leak from which the air is escaping. If there is no escaping air, you are good to go.
