The Equipment you need –

  • Battery
  • Heavy gauge battery cable
  • Wrench
  • Wire stripper
  • Rubber gloves

The way to wire multiple batteries for car studio

  • Step 1: Choose the battery
  • Step 2: Select a place to put the batteries
  • Step 3: Select your workplace
  • Step 4: Disconnect the existed battery
  • Step 5: Connect the batteries in parallel
  • Step 6: Connect the battery to the car

Choose the battery

When you have decided to install one or two more batteries to make your car audio system more powerful, you should choose the right one. You need not take the original battery, but it should be the same group and age as the one you will couple with.

Dry cells are preferable here to wet cells. A wet cell can split battery acid into car components and damage them.

Select a place to put the batteries

If there is no place under the hood where your car battery is placed, then you should decide on another location for the battery. You can put it where the amplifiers are, in your car’s trunk or passenger compartment. If you place the battery in the trunk or the passenger compartment, you should be conscious and put it in a battery box or take some other protection.

Select your workplace

You should park the car where you get enough space to move and work freely. Then let the car cool for work.

Disconnect the existed battery

Now go inside the car hood to look for the car’s battery. Wear a rubber glove in your hand for protection. First, lose the nut on the negative terminal with the help of a wrench and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Then do the same for disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery too.

Connect the batteries in parallel

Now it’s time to connect the batteries. To join them, you are going to add some wire. You should connect the batteries in a parallel way. Take two cables and use a wire stripper to remove the plastic covering from the cables and join them.

Put one end of the cable on the battery’s positive terminal post and another on the amplifier’s power lug. Connect the negative terminal of the battery to the amplifier too. Do not forget to put a fuse between the amp and the battery positive cable and the positive cables between the two batteries.

After that, connect the positive terminal of one battery to the positive on the others and connect the negative terminals with cables. To tighten the nuts on the battery terminal properly, use a wrench.

Connect the battery to the car

After connecting the two batteries, you can connect the main battery to the car. First, put the positive terminal on the positive battery post and tighten it with the wrench. And then connect the negative terminal.

In the same way, making parallel to the main battery, you can install more batteries in your car if needed.
